Credo's programming approach is informed by established strength and conditioning principles, including methodologies reflected in the work and education of organisations such as the UKSCA and NSCA.
Training should reflect the outcome, movement and physical qualities the user is trying to improve.
Training must progress over time if performance is expected to move forward.
More work is not always better work. Training needs to balance stimulus with the ability to recover.
Goals, experience, schedule, equipment and performance all influence programme design.
Training priorities can change across phases rather than remaining static forever.
Training outcomes and user feedback can help determine whether the programme is producing the intended change.

DIFFERENT GOALS NEED DIFFERENT TRAINING
The evidence base does not point to one perfect programme for everyone. Credo changes training priorities according to the outcome.
HYPERTROPHY
Volume, effort, exercise selection and progression can be organised around muscle growth.
STRENGTH
Programming can place greater emphasis on heavy loading, lift practice and progressive strength development.
POWER
Explosive training can target the ability to generate force at speed.
ENDURANCE
Running and conditioning require different workload, intensity and progression decisions.
SPORT
Football, rugby, boxing and other sports require different mixes of strength, speed, power and conditioning.
PROGRESSION
Credo can use training performance and programme history to help determine when progression is appropriate.
Increase resistance where performance indicates the current load is ready to progress.
Progress can occur through better performance inside an appropriate repetition range.
Training volume can be adjusted when the programme and user response justify it.
Exercises can change when the goal, environment or performance demands it.
Planned or responsive reductions in training can help manage accumulated fatigue when appropriate.
Long-term training should not remain unchanged simply because the original plan once worked.
